Layout

Take a trip across the wonderful New Forest to arrive in the old town of Fordingbridge with its medieval 7-arch bridge over the River Avon and Caxton House can be found on the main street to Salisbury. A locked gated entrance takes you to an outside staircase leading to the first floor which contains the attractive conservatory, leading into the kitchen which has a full size fridge-freezer, electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee machine.

From the kitchen is a hallway off of which is the spacious sitting room/dining room with original fireplace, TV with built-in DVD player, comfortable seating and a dining table to seat six.

Across the hallway is a beautiful large double bedroom with original fireplace, a hand-painted four poster bed with sumptuous bedding making for a wonderful night’s sleep. Also in this room is an ensuite shower room and wall mounted TV with built-in DVD player.

The next floor contains two further double bedrooms and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower. All bedrooms have hand-painted beds and furniture and luxury bedding. All quality linen and towels are included.

Experience the creaky uneven floors for a step back in time but with modern comforts including free WiFi.

A parking permit is provided for the local car park just 500 yards away with the added bonus of entitling you to park for free in many New Forest car parks.

Local Area

This accommodation is ideal for walking to the local restaurants, pubs, shops and the recreation area alongside the River Avon. A short stroll down to the George Inn, Fordingbridge overlooking the river is a must for excellent food and drink. Buses to Salisbury, Ringwood and Bournemouth stop a few yards from the building.

In the summer months, you can catch the very popular open top New Forest bus to take you through the wonderful New Forest full of free-roaming ponies, cows and donkeys plus in the autumn months, you can see (unique to the New Forest) pigs roaming to feed on the acorns. This is to reduce the amount of acorns as in quantities they are poisonous to the ponies.
